Over Committed and Overwhelmed
Life gets hectic! By the time we reach our late 30s and early 40s, juggling work, managing the household, and chauffeuring kids to school and sports events often pushes our own well-being to the bottom of the priority list. Unfortunately, our bodies don't adapt to these priorities and don't respond as they did in our teens and 20s.
Aligning Priorities
We often hear the phrase “Pay yourself first.” Usually, it’s regarding responsibly managing financial resources, but at its core, it’s about making small sacrifices now to spare our future selves from difficulty. Similarly sage advice is to “Treat yourself as someone you’re responsible for helping.” We can’t pour from an empty cup, and we can’t support others effectively if we ourselves are depleted. By prioritizing our own well-being, we create a healthier, more balanced life and ensure we have the energy to meet our commitments to those we love.
